CLEVELAND, Ohio – We’ve had a river of fish on our minds since the start of Lent on Wednesday, February 17th. This week we will be featuring 10 mouthwatering seafood dishes from restaurants focused on seafood. Yes, we know there are many amazing seafood dishes at a variety of restaurants including steakhouses and others, but we decided to keep our guide really focused on seafood. Bon appétit!

One bite of the lobster roll and you’ll feel like a crazed, mad Gloucester fisherman pulling the line in the evening. Comes with Old Bay fries. Pair it with a crispy Gruner-Veltliner or a cold lager and you are in heaven.

CLEVELAND: Blue Point grille

Ahh, we fondly remember the Blue Point Express, a trio of perfectly sized portion lunches offering a choice of soup, salad and sandwich. But for dinner these days, it would be hard to pass up My Blue Point Heaven – lobster tail, shrimp, scallops, mashed lobster and asparagus. Of course, the menu item of the same name – oysters – is always a great bet. Excellent food from a restaurant that has been around for over 20 years in the city center.

The restaurant’s “simply prepared” options offer pleasant and simpler alternatives to the menu. And chefs have hit the mark with the right amount of seasoning in many seafood dishes. We’re missing a crisps and dip appetizer that unfortunately pops off the menu (the inclusion of lobster and Maine crab). brightened up the dip a bit). The cod and walleye appetizers are well prepared.

AKRON: Kingfish

Oh, what’s not to like here? One of our favorites, we always start with oysters – often a mix from different regions. So many dishes have never disappointed. Today we’re going to give a nod to New Bedford scallops – served with a savory earthy blend of hazelnut sweet potatoes, bacon and Brussels sprouts. A unique tour.

The seafood platter – Parillada – shines in this restaurant. Its menu consists of approximately 75% seafood dishes. Parillada is an amalgamation of sea bass, lobster, clams, mussels, shrimp, squid, orange roughy and tilapia. The fish are grilled with different frictions and coated with saffron butter.

The vibe can’t be beat, and it’s for sure an awesome place to get out of town. Lots of seafood offerings to choose from – and there should be some with the words “Raw Bar” in the name. Sushi offerings are plentiful. And if you can’t make up your mind, there’s always the seafood tasting with lobster, shrimp, oysters and king crab.

WOODMERE: Mitchell Fish Market

Great menu, and we had great tuna here. This dish with Asian accents is one of our favorites:

Shanghai sea bass – ponzu, ginger, spinach and sticky rice.

CLEVELAND: The Nauti Mermaid

The restaurant’s relaxed and comfortable vibe is a welcoming draw, and the menu offers nice variations of the classics. Popular vendors include the surf and turf burger (beef and crab cake? We’ll try), king crab legs, and – get this – lobster nachos and lobster BLT. Because it’s hard to go wrong adding lobster to anything.

LAKEWOOD: Quai W

OK, the view can’t be beat. The expanse of the lake and the Cleveland skyline in the distance set the mood. For eating, the rotating selection of oyster varieties makes this a deliciously fun bite to taste and compare.

ROCKY RIVER: Dave’s Pacific Grilled Salmon

It’s a difficult call, and we checked with the people at the restaurant. The best seller is the grilled salmon. Bonus: the restaurant’s Taste of N’awlins continues until Sunday, April 4.
