SoDel Concepts plans to open the company’s brand new restaurant, Matt’s Fish Camp Fenwick, at the former Ropewalk Fenwick Island location. This will be the third location of Matt’s Fish Camp.
The owners of Ropewalk will continue to operate a chain of restaurants in Ocean City, Chincoteague, Baltimore and Bethany.
Located at 700 Coastal Highway in Fenwick Island, the menu at Matt’s Fish Camp Fenwick will be similar to offerings at other Matt’s Fish Camp locations with favorites like crab cakes and lobster rolls as well as chef-inspired dishes available only at Fenwick location, a statement said.
“With this new restaurant, we can continue to honor our founder Matt Haley, the restaurant’s namesake, and serve great food in a beautiful space along the Delaware coast. We will be open year round and offer indoor and outdoor dining, ”said SoDel President Scott Kammerer.
Haley, honored by the James Beard Foundation for his charitable work, died in a motorcycle accident while traveling in Nepal and India. Haley’s charitable activities included helping children in Nepal.
Based in Rehoboth Beach, SoDel Concepts operates 12 coastal Delaware restaurants: Fish On and Matt’s Fish Camp in Lewes; The Baywood Clubhouse in Millsboro; Crust & Craft, Bluecoast Seafood Grill + Raw Bar, Thompson Island Brewing Company and Lupo Italian Kitchen in Rehoboth; Matt’s Fish Camp and Bluecoast Seafood Grill + Raw Bar at Bethany Beach; Northeastern seafood cuisine with ocean view; and Catch 54 and Papa Grande’s coastal taqueria on Fenwick Island.
Divisions of SoDel Concepts include Haley / Kammerer, a hotel consulting firm, and Highwater Management, a hotel management company, and SoDel Films, Matt’s Homemade Soda Co., a line of craft sodas, and SoDel Salts, a line of gourmet products inspired by chefs. seasonings.
