“We enjoyed a wonderful Happy Hour at Plank. The ‘Walk The Plank’ oyster selection was a great choice, along with chicken and sausage gumbo. We have selected a fantastic Barbera. All wonderful. Rockefeller oysters were also a great addition. We ended the meal with the best chocolate cheesecake we have ever had. Light as a feather. The service was perfect. Everything was very well done and server suggestions were carefully provided. What a great way to enjoy the start of our long weekend in the Old Market!” –Brenda Zuzolo
Joe Tess Place
Joe Tess Square is your go-to restaurant for seafood dishes. In the 1930s, it started as a local bar. The Famous Fish Sandwich became the main attraction. For 15 cents, cut pieces of carp were cooked in a pan, placed in a cookie jar, and sold. Since then, Joe Tess Place has been powered by modest carp. Joe Tess Place has grown from humble beginnings to become a popular family restaurant known for its friendly service and high quality fresh seafood.

“Great place to eat fried carp or catfish with friends and family. They also have fried chicken, salmon and grilled chicken. Quite expensive for the food. The fried carp is good made to order. I took the grilled chicken because the fish has too many bones for me to eat and choose as I go. The grilled chicken was a bit dry but ok. Comes with 2 sides (maybe 6 sides for you to choose). I liked the coleslaw and we had a fried shrimp appetizer which was good. – Cassandra Richey
Absolutely fresh seafood market
Absolutely fresh seafood market serves the finest seafood. More than 200 restaurants in the metropolitan area rely on them for high-quality fish and seafood. Greg Lindberg, a native of West Point, Nebraska, began transporting fresh shrimp and oysters in a refrigerated truck from New Orleans to Omaha in 1979 and selling them directly from the truck at the intersection of 70th and Dodge. People were understandably apprehensive about buying fish from the back of a truck, but word spread quickly thanks to a high quality product at a fair price.

“They have greatly improved with the serve. We actually had a great lunch and were back to work on time. Didn’t have to chase anyone to take our order, refill drinks or pull out a ticket. The food was excellent as always. It was fresh and on time at the table. Huge improvement over the past few months at this location. – Stephanie Osborn
