Vote for the Best Seafood Restaurants in Tacoma

Where do you go when the ocean calls you?

The Lobster Shop is consistently mentioned as one of the area’s best restaurants for seafood and celebrations. This view of Commencement Bay along Ruston Way is hard to beat.

Longtime owners Denny and Katie Driscoll announced this week that they have sold The Lobster Shop. The future of their sister spot, Boathouse 19 at Narrows Marina, is yet to be determined.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of choices for classic seafood experiences in our beautiful waterfront area, from classic stalwarts like Anthony’s in Point Defiance and Gig Harbor to modern interpreters Gertie and the Giant Octopus.

For the purposes of this survey, we’ve stuck with classic American-style seafood restaurants, where clam chowder, Dungeness crab, Hood Canal oysters and decadent lobsters reign supreme. Therefore, no sushi, seafood broths (like at the new Crab King Cajun Boil & Bar) or mariscos (like at the Culichitown Tacoma also new this year). Here we’ve also omitted Crudo & Cotto, one of Tacoma’s top restaurants, because it’s in an Italian class of its own.

So what’s your favorite seafood restaurant? Vote for your favorite below and we’ll reveal the winners later this month.
